Ptakim! — Privacy Policy

Your data stays yours

Ptakim! is a word-guessing party game. There is no account, no login, and no personal detail required to play. This page explains the little that is collected and why.

What We Collect

When you first launch the app, a random anonymous ID is generated and stored locally on your device. This ID is never linked to your name, email, phone number, or any other personal information. It is used solely to:

Distinguish usage sessions in aggregate analytics
Rate-limit feedback submissions (one per device per day)

Analytics

We use two analytics services to understand how the game is played:

PostHog — captures gameplay events such as game started, round completed, categories selected, and words correct or skipped. No personal data is attached to these events. PostHog is configured to use your anonymous ID only. See PostHog's privacy policy.
Google Firebase Analytics — tracks daily and weekly active usage and game completion rates. See Firebase's privacy policy.

Crash Reporting

Firebase Crashlytics automatically captures crash reports when the app encounters an unexpected error. Reports include device type, OS version, and a stack trace. No personal information is included. See Firebase's privacy policy.

Advertising

The free version of Ptakim! displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android) to show relevant ads.

On iOS, you will be asked for permission before your advertising identifier is used (App Tracking Transparency prompt).
In the European Economic Area (EEA) and the UK, a consent form will appear before any ads are shown, in compliance with GDPR.
Purchasing the Ad-Free upgrade removes all ads and no advertising identifiers are accessed.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) and by RevenueCat, which validates purchase receipts on our behalf. We do not receive or store your payment information. RevenueCat may receive your anonymous ID to link purchase history to your device. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Feedback

If you use the in-app "Contact Us" feature, your message is transmitted to our Cloudflare Worker backend and forwarded to our support email via Resend. The message content is not stored on any server after it is delivered. We retain only what you choose to write in your message.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. The only data shared with third parties is what is described above — anonymous analytics events with PostHog and Firebase, crash reports with Crashlytics, and ad identifiers with AdMob (with your consent where required).

Data Retention

The anonymous ID is stored on your device until you delete the app. Analytics events are retained according to the default policies of PostHog and Google Firebase. You can request deletion of your analytics data by contacting us.

Children

Ptakim! is rated 4+ on iOS and Everyone on Android. It does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. Ad personalization is subject to Google's policies for child-directed content.

Your Rights

If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of data associated with your anonymous ID. Contact us and provide your anonymous ID (visible in the app's settings screen) so we can process your request.
